The Humanscale L116 Liberty chair is designed to give the maximum ergonomic benefit to the sitter with a minimum number of manually-adjusted controls. Once the chair is fitted, no further adjustment is required. The idea is that movement, which is essential for a healthy body, shouldn’t be constricted by locking mechanisms and manual controls. In other words, sitting comfortably isn’t something you should have to think about.

Intelligent counter-balance recline mechanism automatically provides the right amount of support through the full range of recline motion, regardless of user size and weight. No tension springs to adjust. No recline locks to set/release. During recline, the angle between torso and legs opens up for better body function. User maintains near constant eye level during recline. Extra motion of the backrest during recline automatically adjusts to the changing needs of the spine. Tri-panel non-stretch mesh construction creates body fitting contours and self adjusting lumbar support for a customized fit No external lumbar devices to adjust, break or lose. The is low abrasion and protects clothing. Offered in many wave and vellum fabrics, meshes and upgradeable to leather. The frame is Titanium or graphite, and offers an upgrade to chrome. Base model or top of the line the Liberty is a must for any room in the office.

the liberty is such a thoughtfully designed chair.  it is self adjusting, so you don't have all of the confusing, clumsy, unattractive levers.  the liberty along with the freedom are essentially designer chairs and are also sold at design within reach, but at list price!  yikes!  absolutely love this chair.

The Liberty Conference/Task Chair
is the nicest mesh chair on the market today.  Its design and feel can only be descibed by sitting in it.  If you sit 6 to 8 hours a day in an office, you NEED to try this great quality chair.  It really makes a difference.  The ergonomic design and the mesh are unbelievable.  Buy it and try it.
